The tree with the bright orange flowers and the long seed pods is a Flamboyant tree. When the pods are just about dry you can pull them off the tree and let them dry out completely. They make great a wonderful rattle/shaker! You will see them all over the island. They can grow to be very large and are spectacular when they are blooming! we have a very large one at Caribbean Dream.
