The tree with the bright orange flowers and the long seed pods is a Flamboyant tree. When the pods are just about dry you can pull them off the tree and let them dry out completely. They make great a wonderful rattle/shaker! You will see them all over the island. They can grow to be very large and are spectacular when they are blooming! There is one growing at the end of our driveway.
